Overview
Strato K is the world’s highest-fidelity movie player. Strato K unlocks native 8K playback and plays Kaleidescape’s exclusive new 4K Cinematic™ format. 4K Cinematic movies include more image data for richer color, cleaner detail, and a breathtaking experience.
Taking advantage of 8K processing power, 4K Cinematic provides full chroma (up to 4:4:4) and much higher bitrates. This additional color and image data produces incredible visuals – engaging, immersive, and breathtaking – pulling you into the story and delivering a dramatic leap beyond today’s 4K.
Strato movie players provide lossless audio, maximizing sound quality with a range of downstream components. Strato supports multichannel and spatial audio codecs including Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, DTS:X, and DTS-HD Master Audio.
Strato K works on its own or as part of a larger Kaleidescape system. When operating standalone, Strato K stores a handful of 8K, 4K Cinematic, or 4K movies on its internal one terabyte solid-state drive. Strato K can also be grouped with one or more Kaleidescape Terra movie servers to add movie storage and provide whole-home entertainment.

Cons:
- It’s still an investment. While it’s more affordable than other options, it’s still a big purchase for many home theater fans.
- Limited scene creation options. You can't create custom scenes or scripts directly from the remote.
- Storage limitations. You’re capped at storing a handful of 8K movies or about 10 4K movies at a time.
