That’s why I created CommunityAV.

My goal isn’t just to sell products, but to help you make confident decisions and build something you’ll actually love long term. Everything here is based on real-world experience, not just specs or marketing. I’ve been really into home theater since I was 15. As a teenager, I spent as many Saturdays as I could at Sound Advice in Tampa, sitting in their demo rooms, just imagining what it would be like to have a system like that someday.

In 1999, I started working in the Home Theater department at Circuit City, giving demos and helping customers build their setups. That’s when I bought my first real system, a Pioneer AVR with Polk Audio speakers and a Velodyne sub. Nothing crazy… but it was mine, and it pulled me even deeper into the hobby.

In 2006, my wife suggested we build a dedicated theater in our new home. At the time, I honestly thought only rich people had theater rooms. The space wasn’t anything crazy, just a 13' x 19' media room from the floor plan, but I didn’t care. I was all in. I started with a 103 inch screen and a used Klipsch system. It was a humble setup… but I was hooked.

Over the years, I kept upgrading, refining, and learning what actually makes a system sound incredible, not just in theory, but in a real room.

I’ve now been in over 100 home theaters across the country, from simple setups to some of the best rooms out there.

That passion eventually turned into my YouTube channel, Youthman, where I’ve been able to help others through that same journey.
